Increasing access to mental health services to those who have historically had less access to care is something I feel strongly about. If you are a student of color with limited resources, please contact me about CommUNITY Connect, a discounted therapy fee program.

Yes. I am an in-network provider with Aetna and Cigna in Colorado only. Check your eligibility to make sure you're covered.
I am an out-of-network (OON) provider for all other insurance companies. However, just because I'm OON does not mean you won't get any coverage!
Your insurance might reimburse psychotherapy fees paid out-of-pocket if you have OON benefits. Call the number on the back of your insurance card and confirm with your insurance provider about OON benefits, which can often make psychotherapy affordable, similar to in-network coverage.
Upon request, I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for OON reimbursement benefits. A diagnosis, discussed in our first appointment, is required for insurance reimbursement. Learn more about how to use OON benefits.
To make things easy, I have partnered with Mentaya, a service that streamlines getting reimbursed for your therapy sessions through out-of-network benefits. Create an account to instantly check your OON benefits.

Concerns about the financial cost of psychotherapy are normal and understandable, but investing in yourself is invaluable. I mean...what better investment is there?
Research shows that psychotherapy can prevent costs associated with untreated psychological concerns. When our mental health is left unchecked, it tends to impact other areas of our life—we can develop problems with our physical health or need psychiatric hospitalization, which can lead to increased medical costs; we can become less productive at work or need to take time off, which can lead to losing money as a result; we might begin to struggle in school, which can result in a need to retake classes.
You are your greatest investment. Psychotherapy is an investment in nurturing, healing, and protecting your mind, body, and spirit and enhancing your ability to create a healthy and satisfying life.

Therapy can be helpful if you’re feeling burdened by substance use, struggling with triggers, or caught in a cycle that feels hard to break. Many people reach out when they feel trapped or discouraged, or when life pressures—like cultural expectations or family dynamics—make healing more complex.
A lot of people seek therapy when they feel lost, stuck, confused, or disconnected—like you know something is wrong, but you just can’t figure out what. Or maybe you know exactly what is wrong, but you feel like you've already tried everything to solve it, and you're starting to feel like you can't figure it out on your own.
During our initial consultation, we’ll address your concerns, answer any questions you might have about therapy and/or myself, and explore how therapy might help you. If you decide this is something you want, we will spend our first few sessions exploring your history and the nature of your concerns and identify more specifically what changes you want to make.
If we find that another approach is a better fit, I can help you find referrals for what you’re looking for.

The purpose of the free 15-minute consultation is to ask me anything you want to know to see if I'm the person you want to work with on your healing journey.
It is also a chance for me to ask you questions about yourself, what you're going through, and what you're looking for in order for me to determine whether I'm the right fit to help you.
If we determine we're not the right fit, I will help you find other resources for what you're looking for.
If we determine we are a good fit, then we'll cover some formalities (e.g., treatment agreements, privacy policies, telehealth agreement, etc.) and then we will schedule a 1-hour intake appointment. During this appointment, I will get to know more about you and your story.
The point of the 15-minute consultation is to get to know me before you make the investment in your therapy journey with me. Just like you'd never invest in stock for a company you know nothing about, I wouldn't want you to invest your money in me before you had a chance to get to get to know me first.
Here are some sample questions you can ask during your initial 15-minute consultation (with me or any other therapist you meet with):
How long have you been practicing therapy?
How do you approach treatment?
Do you have experience providing therapy to people with similar issues as mine?
Do you have experience working with a person of my culture and/or background?
What is your cancellation/no-show policy?
How much will our sessions cost?
How do you determine your sliding scale fees?
How will I know therapy is working?
What if, after a couple sessions, I decide we're not a good fit?
How will we decide when I don't need therapy anymore?
Have you done therapy yourself?
Why did you become a therapist?
How do I know if we're a good fit?
What will our first session look like?
Will you give me homework in between sessions?
Based on what you know about me so far, do you think we're a good fit? Why or why not?
What are some things I should know before working with you?

Our initial intake will be about 60 minutes.
Our follow-up sessions will be between 45-60 minutes. Depending on your needs and what is feasible and realistic for you, we can meet shorter or longer. This will all be determined in our first few meetings together.
-
At least for the first month, I prefer weekly meetings to establish rapport and assess compatibility. We can adjust session frequency based on your preferences, what you need, and what is realistically feasible for you during our initial appointments.
As you achieve your goals, we can transition to bi-weekly, monthly, and eventually termination, or we can clarify new therapy goals and work toward those.

I do not work with children under the age of 12. I love the kids, but I am not trained in treating kids, so I don't.
I do not provide comprehensive psychological assessment or testing services in my private practice at this time.
If needs that I am unqualified to address arise in our work together, I will help you find referral options.
